One Nation, Under God

Medicine has brought out the worst in me

I rarely get sick. I am allergic to nearly everything, but I rarely get sick.

Last week I found out that I was sick after thinking I had a simple ear infection.

I went to see the good doctor and found out that, apparently, I have a bacterial infection called “pharyngitis.”

Yikes!

The worst part of all this was that I am currently on antibiotics.

I have never had a high tolerance for medication. One smell of NyQuil can knock me out cold.

This amoxicillin stuff is no joke. This antibiotic has given me the "stomach cramps" ever since I started taking it. I was afraid to eat or drink anything last weekend and with good reason.

I’ve been dehydrated before, but this was terrible.

To make matters worse, I tried to help my father-in-law fix my roof for insurance purposes. My fear of heights and nearly messing myself mixed with thoughts of falling off the roof. I tried my best to help out, but I felt like a cat stuck in a tree and wasn't very helpful.

I felt terrible the rest of the night, but managed to check out Shakespeare in the Park for the first time. I’ve seen a few plays over my short life span and I have to say for an optional donation program, the acting was some of the best I’ve ever seen even with my stomach in knots. The live sword fighting was excellent and the actors made their characters so relatable.

I think being sick has brought out some deep emotions lately. For instance, at the Milk River Gospel jamboree, the Durocher Family played a song that nearly brought me to tears… I left the auditorium. It was probably my allergies.

PJ is getting bigger and stronger day by day. He turns on the cuteness daily and has been making some of the craziest faces I have ever seen. I think he knew I’ve been under the weather because he’s been snuggling da-da a lot more recently. He has also been using a sippy cup and loving it.

It’s just over another anniversary of me moving to Montana. Three years ago June 21, I moved to Malta, surprising my then girlfriend Susan Fauth, now Susan Bibbs.

She proves everyday that I made the right choice.
