Malta's JV and C-squad defeat Coyotes

Malta's underclassmen teams picked up wins against Dodson last Tuesday night in Malta as the Mustangs JV squad defeated Dodson's varsity team 40-14 and the M-ette C-squad defeated the Lady Coyotes 49-33.

The night opened up with the M-ettes jumping out to a 15-5 advantage in the first quarter thanks to a solid pressure defense that simply overwhelmed the young Lady Coyotes.

The Malta team comprised of ninth graders was led in the win by Taylor Gilkerson who scored 12 points. Kyleigh Schipman scored nine points.

"We had some pretty good fast-breaks," Gilkerson said. "We played pretty fast."
