One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for October 19, 2016

Sympathy to Cindy Clark and family (Loring.) Her mother passed away in Minnesota. Cindy is the pastor of Loring Lutheran Church. Dave Clark has the garage in Loring and they are moving the Loring Church.

Get well wishes to Mrs. Jeff Murdock in Dominica.

Adalynn Math celebrated her fist birthday last week with some small friends at her home north of Whitewater. She is the younger daughter of Michelle and Cody. She has an older sister, Aidree.

Pat Murdock was in Malta last Friday and met with her cousin Murnelle (Mikkelson) Fargo and her husband Mike, from Billings. They had lunch with cousin Rick Mikkelson, Les Solberg and his wife, Lorna, at the Hi-Line in Malta.

Jim and Pat Murdock watched great granddaughter Blake Ozark and other third and fourth graders play flag football under the “big lights”. It looked like a lot of fun. This Saco-Malta team’s coaches are Nate Hammond and Jake Stuart.

I went to Canada (Swift Current) to visit my daughter, Teresa (Moore) Dyck. She works at the Co-op in the mall. We had a very nice visit with Teresa and Jake.

Heavy rains have caused flooding all over the county. In the Whitewater vicinity, The Grant Dunbar family (living on the Cottonwood Creek) had to evacuate their home as there was flooding!

Fred Allery Sr. (from north of Whitewater) moved to Malta due to the Whitewater Creek rising.

North 40 Café has a leak from flood waters. Maybe we should have a fundraiser to repair the roof! Water even rose under the Whitewater Creek Bridge. It has gone down now.

Welcome to Jessica, the new lady working on the Swift Fox project (see recent Phillips County News article.) Jessica is from Virginia.

Austin and Julie Cole, along with Janice Reichelt, went to the Norsk Hostfest in Minot, N.D. (I missed their names last week).

“Honor’s Salute” to nurses who are retired but go back to work, Barb Dunbar and Mary Lou Broadbrooks both help at the Hi-Line. Also, salute to Dixie Moore and Janice Reichelt for years of nursing.

There is a Bible Study at Whitewater Lutheran Church on Monday evening at 7 p.m. The study is led by Lyn Hill. All are welcomed to attend.

There are many different customers coming to the North 40 Café. Mr. Ottinger and Orvin Solberg (Malta) and the manger of the Coca-Cola company in Havre all visited the Café, the later stating, “North 40 hamburgers are great!”

There will be a Polka Sunday at Whitewater Lutheran Church on Sunday, October 29 at 11:15. It is a fun music service and everyone is welcome.

There is a meadowlark in the snow singing; maybe we should all sing in the snow! A gaggle of geese just flew overhead going south. Good luck, geese.

Helen
