One Nation, Under God

Loring News for August 9, 2017

Congratulations to all the people who entered objects in the fair! I believe our youngest winner up in this area is Ryan Clark who received a blue ribbon on his green pea entry in open class! Way to go, Ryan!

I have many fond memories of getting ready for the fair with all the entries, baking, canning and cleaning sheaves. Much stress! But people continue to enter and be judged and win money for their efforts!

Lu Besel and I took in the concert along with about 500 other people! It was a great show with three bands playing lots of country history!

I saw several of my students at the fair, and was reminded that in a very few days I'd be gazing at their lovely faces every day!

Now Jason Morrison commented to his sister, Tawnya that I crack him up talking about my little family of Hungarian partridges that wander through my yard twice a day! Well, sad to say, we are down to five babies, from nine. I think a fox has had a meal or two. I can't complain...I'm sure the fox was hungry!

Some of the church ladies picked out cupboards, color and style and how many for the church kitchen. Things are beginning to come together over there and we'll be holding services there before we know it! The floor covering, bathroom fixtures, hand railing, etc, are next on the list after the electricity!

I see combines going around in the fields, not too big of yields, but maybe the protein is high! Watch out for those pesky rocks!

The Phillips County Fair was attended by most in this area at least for a few hours!

The Perseid meteor shower will be best this weekend! I watched the sky last Wednesday night about 3 a.m. and the aurora borealis was really dancing! I even saw a meteor! So when you are out late, look up and discover the myriad of stars in our solar system!
