John L. Norgon

John L. Norgon passed away on June 18, 2017 following a heart attack. He was born in R.I. on July 28, 1947. His adoptive parents, Earl "Morrie" Norgon and Yvonne Norgon, lived in Whitefish, Mont., where John attended primary school. He finished grade school and began high school in Malta, Mont. He also attended high school in Dodson, Mont., before graduating from high school in Little Rock, Ark.

Following high school John served in the Army where he trained in computer programming. After the Army he worked as a computer programmer in a Little Rock bank until his retirement. He moved to New Orleans, La., for several years before deciding to move "home" to Malta where he worked at the Great Northern Hotel until his second retirement.

John's passions were reading and playing bridge. He achieved a Life Master's ranking in bridge. Those who knew John will miss his quick wit, intelligent conversations, and storytelling.

He is survived by his sisters Maureen Kay Daley (Ron), Lanni Jacobson (Curt), Kathy VanHoudt (Paul), and Kelly Orahood (Jim), his aunt, Laurie Snyder White, ten nieces and nephews, two great-nephews, and numerous cousins.

A service will be on Friday, April 6, 2018. More information will be announced nearer that date. The family suggest memorial donations be sent to the Phillips County Library, P.O. Box 840, Malta, Montana 59538.
