World War I Veterans District Convention ... Over 130 persons registered for the District 3 Convention of the World War I Veterans organization which was held in Malta on Monday, November 11, the 50th Anniversary of the Armistice ending World War I. Pictured are some of the Word War I veterans who attended the affair which drew visitors from Wolf Point, Bainville, Chinook, Butte, Dodson, and Harlem. Some of them are not identified. The post office quarters were moved to the Veseth Building under a 10-year lease.

A letter to the Enterprise from Cpl. Auburn Coe stated that he had been in the last big drive of the war in France and had come through without a scratch.

Milton Porter was believed to be the only Phillips County man with the U.S. Army of occupation in Germany.

Mrs. Frank Schempp of Freewater had been asked to supply the birth certificate of her youngest son as it was believed he was the youngest man in the U.S. expeditionary forces. John Schempp w...
