Malta FFA Chapter seeks 'Lifetime Members'

October 16, 2019

Future Farmers of America (FFA) Alumni and Supporters are individuals who work together under the common interest of helping FFA programs succeed.

You do not need to be a former member to join, and you do not need to have students currently enrolled in the program either! The only requirement is a sincere desire to support agricultural education teachers and help student members develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

In order to remain a State and Nationally affiliated FFA Alumni chapter, we need to have a minimum of 10 Lifetime Members on our membership roll. If we have more than 25 Lifetime Members, our annual affiliation dues to the State and National level as a chapter are waived.

We are asking supporters to enroll as a Lifetime Member or make a donation to our local alumni chapter so we can provide Lifetime membership scholarships for interested individuals. Lifetime Memberships are $250 each person, which includes the National ($200) and Montana State ($50) dues and is a onetime investment.

Contact Christina Fister, FFA Ag instructor, at 406-654-2002 (cfister@maltaschools.org) or Khristi Drabbs, FFA Alumni volunteer at 406-654-4228 for more information, to register your membership or to make a tax-deductible donation.

Why worry about State or National affiliation? State and national backing lends validity to the organization and allows people to engage in support of our local program no matter where they reside. Additionally, it provides a support system that a booster club lacks. Resources flow from national and state to support the local level and develop local members into effectively engaged volunteers within the agricultural education program. It also allows us to have a 501c3 status, which means your donations are tax deductible! By being a State and National affiliated FFA Alumni and supporters’ chapter, we can offer additional opportunities for scholarships and grants that are only available to students/chapters with a state and nationally chartered, active National FFA Alumni and supporter chapter.

Our local Alumni chapter has been active since 2013 and has room for more volunteers and supporters! Alumni members are volunteers made up of parents, family members, community members, supporters, former members and anyone interested in supporting agricultural education and FFA.
