One Nation, Under God

Timothy"Tim" Eugene Hasler

Timothy"Tim" Eugene Hasler - son, brother, husband, and friend - was taken from us unexpectedly on Thursday, December 16, 2019 after battling a stroke at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Mont., with his family by his side.

For those who knew him will never forget his infectious laugh and personality. Tim loved everyone and ignored no one. He always went out of his way to say hello to everyone he met.

Tim was known as the "Neighborhood Garbage Man" before her retired. He worked for the City of Malta for 31 years. He loved his work and his garbage truck which he named "Miss Freightliner." Tim watched over the town and especially the elderly. He used to say "I'm glad to see garbage in cans, that way I know they are alive."

Tim had a love for animals also, and would see a hungry dog or cat and feed them. His heart was broken when his dog Hobo died last year. Tim lived in Malta all of his life and never wanted to go anywhere else.

Tim's love for life and other people was infectious. He loved fishing, darts, cornhole, and especially family.

Tim was born January 11, 1959 to Floyd and Sandra (Sandvick) Hasler in Malta.

Tim is survived by his wife Angela Hasler and three siblings; Tony (brother) and Donna (Ermentrout) Hasler of Billings, Mont.; Chad (brother) and Tracy (Ermentrout) Hasler of Billings; Leila (sister) Hasler (Husman) and Mike of Mission, S.D., and special friend, Ann Hasler, wife of the late Floyd Hasler of Lewistown, Mont.

Tim had no children of his own but loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Tim this spring and the date and time will be posting in the Phillips County News.
