One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for March 25, 2020

Dora Henry and Polly Solberg were in Havre on Monday for a medical appointment. They took some things to Bill and Marilyn Henry and it was also the anniversary of Becky Henry's birthday.

It snowed a little more and turned cold although the sun did make it out later. The wind has blown a lot all week.

School has been closed as is all the public schools in Montana for at least two weeks. Take home lunches are being offered to all students needing them during this time.

Restaurants, Bars and businesses have been told to close — Churches have suspended in-house services till at least March 30th. Many county and state services have been cut because of the coronavirus issue. I'm sure this will destroy many small businesses in the long run. Needed supplies and different foods are hard to find in the open stores. The long-run effect of all this is scary — I'm even with more so with families with several young children who were possibly struggling before. Meetings larger than 10 people or people traveling long distances away from their homes have been banned but some of them can be handled by phone if necessary and some people are still conducting business by phone. Fear for elders and nursing home residents is high because of their low resistance and bad health already.

It snowed a little on Wednesday, but Thursday was colder, snowing and overcast. All of these storms have been from the east---but we do have snow again. The sun has come out again, starting to melt some of the snow, making mud but clearing part of the streets.

The governor has made it mandatory to close all cafes and bars to the public. In some states, police are now guarding so people stay home and the public meeting places are not open.

There is not much movement around town since everyone is supposed to stay in.

God's blessings to everyone and prayers that this virus is contained before too many more people are affected or die.

Anniversary and birthday greetings are sent to all having one this week. Have a good one and stay well.

Lord, when my dreams are shattered, walk beside me, comfort me and show me the way to other dreams and fulfillment.
