One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for August 12, 2020

Get well wishes traveling prize was awarded to my sister, Janet Brown. She is out of the hospital and, for now, in assisted living.

Happy birthday to Fred Allery Sr., and Fred Allery Jr. Also, happy birthday to my son Mitchell Moore and Irene Wendalyn of Chinook.

Irene and I went to the Phillips County Fair Friday. We ate supper and went to the night concert that night and it was excellent Country music. Although the exhibits were down in number, congratulations to the 4-H children. What I miss most out of our little fair are the carousel and the music.

Saturday, Irene and I took a scenic drive around Nelson Reservoir. There was a big pontoon boat and others. The water was so calm. We also went by Cole Ponds and it was a nice day and drive.

Curt R. gave me a ride back home to Whitewater and I appreciate that.

Some folks went to the fair on Saturday including the Greens who attended the demo derby.

Justin and Michell Austin and family are here visiting. They went to visit Joyce (Austin) Donaven and they all went to Holter Lake. Fort Peck Lake was also on their list of vacation spots. The Austins returned to Aurora, Colo.

Back in Whitewater, Nate “Dirty Jobs” Fried was here working and he does a great job.

Also in Whitewater, I saw something awesome; several baby birds fell (or were pushed) from their nest by a tree in my yard. They were so excited, chirping and flapping those tiny wings. They were so sweet.

This morning I saw the Northern Star. Last night we also had a full moon and it was beautiful.

Take care,

Helen A.
