One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for August 26, 2020

Happy birthday to Sally Austin, Chalise Hoff, and Mitchell Moore.

Did you watch the Democratic Convention? It was great — Michelle Obama’s speech was awesome. OF course, Joe Biden was fantastic! Make sure to vote in the 2020 election.

Here in Whitewater, school has started. It is different as they are all wearing masks and practicing so-cial distancing due to the COVID-19 virus. Good luck to all students, teachers, and staff.

Yesterday, Janet Dunbar (census taker) stopped by my house, but I had already sent mine in the mail.

A late congratulations to Beau Simonson, the Hellies, and Labries on their 4-H awards. Now a new year of 4-H will begin.

Last weekend, mt granddaughter, Chalise Hoff, and new husband Tim came to Whitewater to visit. It was great to see them and my sister, Gale Young. We had a family reunion as local family members came for hamburgers and lunch. Chalise and time returned to Bozeman to work.

The weather in Whitewater is hot and dry as is typical in August. We could really use some rain.

Maybe the farmers and ranchers would rather wait until haying and harvesting are done. Good luck to them.

News flash: Congratulations to Melanie, Tye (Jeanie Green’s daughter) on the birth of their new son who was born in Great Falls, Mont.

Also, congratulations to (Stensvick) Harms who recently got married (she is the cook at Whitewater Schools.)

Stay cool on hot days!

Helen A.
