Whitewater Schools’ Graduation is May 14, 2021, at 7.p.m. Congratulations to them.

IT’S MAY!!! Happy Mothers Day and Happy Birthday “to all those celebrating in May, also to those celebrating anniversaries,

There was a track meet in Whitewater. Busloads of track participants from Malta, Saco, Hinsdale, Lodgepole, and Whitewater attended. The WHS served lunch (picnic) next to the track.

The Wishers were chief cooks, serving up their pork sandwiches as part of lunch.

Congratulations to all participants especially the WW Penguins.

Lu Bessell and Dixie Stordahl worked in the dinosaur museum recently. The museum opens May 1, 2021, for the season.

The spring concert was on April 30, 2021. Great singing as usual by students.

There was a carnival at the WHS. Lots of games including Bingo. I played and won a good prize…gum

Here is a “Mother’s Day Tribute” MOM By Martha Austin:

Mom was the most wonderful person in the world. She was the world’s “best cook” and “best mother”.

Mom had taught school for 10 years. She was a teacher, teaching in a little country school called the “White Elephant”. When she and Dad met and got married, the school was located where Loring is now.

Mom was a “businesswoman”. She was the first woman to “prove up” a homestead and own it despite being married. (This was the homestead where Sally A. lives now!)

But Mom chose to stay at home after brother Harry, Sis Janet, and I were growing up. Mom has been gone for years. I still miss her, especially on Mother’s Day.

May 2021 in Whitewater. It’s a beautiful day; birds are singing and the is grass getting green!

Enjoy, Helen A
