MAINTENANCE/UTILITY WORKER

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain and repair property of the Town; use a variety of machines, tools, and equipment; operation of backhoe, truck, and grader as well as other needed equipment. Qualifications consist of a combination of education and experience; High school diploma/GED; natural gas, water, and/or sewer certification; valid driver’s license; communication skills; administrative and paperwork skills; basic computer skills. Must be willing/able to become certified in natural gas, water, and sewer per State regulation; must be willing/able to obtain a CDL upon hire; some rotational on-call time during weekends, holidays, and emergencies; and must be able to travel overnight for education. Requires drug test prior to employment. Benefits: Pay rate will depend upon experience and qualifications but include; sick leave, vacation, retirement, and premium only flex plan.

FULL-TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF

The Phillips County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications to create a hiring pool from which successful applicants will be chosen to fill vacancies.

We currently have one opening for a FULL-TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

Duties for a Deputy Sheriff include crime prevention, investigating crimes, traffic patrol, drug interdiction, among other law enforcement related duties. Applicants must at a minimum possess the following qualifications:

• Must be a United States citizen

• Must have a High School diploma or GED

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must possess or be eligible to obtain a

Montana Driver's License

• Must not have a felony conviction

• Must be of good moral character as

determined by a thorough background

investigation

• Must pass medical and mental health

evaluations

Possession of current P.O.S.T. Basic certification preferred but not necessary to apply. Within one year of hire, must be able to successfully complete the MLEA Basic course and receive P.O.S.T. Basic certification. Applicants will be expected to travel to Malta, MT for psychological testing as well as interviews.

Benefits include 100% premiums paid for medical insurance for employee and family, vacation/sick pay, and annual longevity pay increases. Starting wage is $18.66/hour with 5% increase upon completing one year of probation.

DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR

District Administrator for the Phillips Conservation District: Will serve as an advocate for improving natural resource conditions of Phillips County utilizing available technical, financial, and educational resources and focusing or coordinating them to meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of soil, water, and related resources. Office experience including bookkeeping, records management, grant management and computer proficiency. A rural background and knowledge of natural resources is helpful.
