J.E.M. Memorial Scholarship Announced

Dr. Joseph E. McCarthy was a lifelong educator. He held a fierce passion for teaching, and his continued dedication was for ensuring the youth of America had a firm foundation and understanding of finance and higher education as it related to real-world experience. His focus was on Finance, but he had a rounded overall world view of life and was not only an educator, but a student in the fiercest sense ensuring that his mind was always active and he was always learning.

In dedication of his years of service to the education of America’s youth, Joseph’s family has created a scholarship fund in his memory, aptly named the JEM Scholarship, as he was the gem of his family and his many talents, wisdom and wit will be sorely missed.

All high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the JEM Scholarships which will be awarded up to $1,000. Applications will be available at the local counselors office, or by emailing [email protected]. Completed applications must be emailed no later than April 1, 2022. Funds will be awarded upon finalization of the first semester of post-secondary education.
