M-ettes second at Whitewater Invitational

The Malta M-ettes track team took second place at the Whitewater High School Invitational on Thursday, April 21, at Johnson Memorial Field.

The meet was won by the Havre Track team who had 172 points. Malta had 122 points, Whitewater was third with a total of 91 points, Saco was fourth with 84 points, Hinsdale was fifth with 22 points, Hinsdale was fifth with 22 points, Nashua was sixth with 14 points, Turner was seventh with seven points, and Hays Lodge Pole was eighth with one point.

Malta was led by Kira Beck who took first place in pole vault by clearing 8-0. She was second in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best of 18.73 and third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 58.68.

Tia Siewing won shot put with a throw of 31-9. She was seventh in discus with a season's best of 69-4 and ninth in javelin with a personal best of 84-6.

Skylie Lefdahl was first in discus with a season's best of 94-0. She was sixth in the 200 with a time of 33.01 and eighth in shot put with a throw of 27-2.

Gracie Honey was second in the 800 with a time of 2:57.68 and third in the 400 with a time of 1:16.05. Honey also set a new best of 82-4 in javelin.

Madison Williamson was second in triple jump after posting a mark at 30-3. She also set a new best in javelin with a throw of 71-6.

Justine Lamb was second in shot put with a throw of 30-8.

The short relay team consisting of Gracie Honey, Williamson, Allison Kunze, and Addison Ulrich finished third with a time of 58.71. The long relay consisting of Beck, Ulrich, Honey, and Kunze also finished third with a time of 5:22.14.

Kunze was third in the 200 with a time of 30.34 seconds, fourth in long jump with a leap of 13-8.75, and fifth in triple jump with a length of 27-9.5.

Giona Lamb took fourth in shot put with a season's best of 29-2.5. She was also sixth in discus and javelin with new personal bests of 71-7 and 89-4 respectively.

Madyson Bain took fourth place in javelin with a personal best of 94-4 and eighth in discus with a throw of 69-2.

Megan Morser took fifth in the 200 and long jump, posting a new best of 31.28 seconds in the 200 and a new best of 13-6.5 in long jump. She was also eighth in the 100 with a time of 14.68.

Addy Anderson was fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.63, fifth in high jump after clearing 4-2, and sixth in the 300 hurdles. She also posted a new best of 76-2 in javelin.

Deion Lefdahl took sixth in the 800 with a time of 3:40.70 and seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:33.32.

Elly Anderson was seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 23.14. She also had a time of 16.89 in the 100, a leap of 10-8 in long jump and a throw of 62-11 in javelin.

Aubri Werk was ninth in discus with a throw of 68-11. Werk also posted a throw of 54-10 in javelin and a throw of 25-6 in shot put.

Caitlyn Wilson had a throw of 58-4 in discus, a throw of 20-10 in shot put, a throw of 68-4 in javelin, and a time of 16.17 in the 100.
