Grief Support Group meetings to start this fall

We will begin again an informal (some discussion and some instruction) grief support group this fall. Our twice (2nd and 4th Wednesdays) a month meetings are to provide support for those who have lost a loved one or have experienced a loss of some kind. By educating ourselves, by sharing our experiences, and learning about grief we are able to better deal with our loss.

In our experience, we have heard many reasons why a person won’t consider going to any sort of support group meeting. Some of the reasons we hear are: I am doing fine, I deal with it my own way, I don’t like group meetings, and I don’t like to share my feelings. Again in our experience, we find even if we don’t feel the need to share or don’t feel we need guidance, there is usually someone who can benefit from our story if we choose to share it and connecting with others is healthy. (As with all successful groups, you are never forced to share.)

So connecting with others “in the same boat” as we are, making new friends, and possibly finding a new interest are just a few of the good reasons why you might try out this group.

Please call: Mary Mangis at 406-654-2784(cell-406-654-7037) or Dianne Salsbery at 406-654-1443 (cell-406-654-4675) with any questions. Our cell phones accept texts.

Our meetings will be held at Salsbery’s residence 615 S. 3rd ST E. We meet from 6:30 to 7:30.

This grief support group is sponsored by Phillips County Mental Health Local Advisory Council (LAC)
