One Nation, Under God

North Country News for Wednesday, September 28, 2022

Brent and Debbie Anderson took their farm hand Luis to Fort Peck Dam. He asked if it was going to be bigger than Nelson Reservoir? Oh yes, they told him. And he was quite amazed when he saw it!

Mike and Pam Wolery, Kourtney Hellie's parents who live in Jean Murdocks old house in Whitewater, had a great garden this year. Everyone else's was destroyed by grasshoppers. Pam works in Malta and Mike works at the North 40 Bar & Cafe.

Jesse and Becky Murdock, daughter Kathy and Tyler Brunson and their 2-year-old son Jesse James, from Ely Nevada, visited Great Grandma Pat Thursday afternoon. Jimmy Murdock came along too.

Sarah, Korbyn, and Emmet Scubena who live in Whitewater went fishing with Korbyn’s Dad, Scub, in Minnesota this weekend. Sarah is Pat and Barb Dunbar’s daughter.

Brent Anderson attended a school board meeting last week. Thank goodness Whitewater still has grades K-12. The school also has a teacher from the Philippines, Joana Dizon. Maybe she will share some of her culture with the children. It is great that so many still want to come to Montana. Away from the big cities.

Trisha LaBrie, our music teacher, broke her foot. Get better soon. She is our north route bus driver too. Lyn Hill, our neighbor, is filling in for her.

There was a family gathering at the home of Alan and Danette (DeMontigny) Love in memory of Alice DeMontigny McAdams who passed away Sept. 19, 2021. Those coming from Medicine Hat were her daughters Janet Carlier, Shirley Bakken, and families. These girls couldn't come to their mothers funeral last year because of a bad flu. Alice's husband Chuck has also passed away. His daughter Maureen Gerechit from Great Falls also came to visit the family. Bob and Rena Math also attended. They made a happy occasion even through some tears.
