I Just Turned 35 and Had a Birthday Party?

Last Wednesday, October 5, I reached a milestone in terms of age. I turned 35.

Typically I do not make a big deal about my day of birth. If someone was to ask me what I want for my birthday, typically I cannot provide an answer. Over the last few years the answer has been some type of sneaker. This year’s birthday sneaker is the Nike SB High Concepts Turdunken, which is a sneaker that I have wanted for a couple of years.

Other than the yearly sneaker pick, I have no idea what I want for my birthday or what I want to do for my birthday. Initially, I wanted my birthday off of work. But then I think, if I can’t go to work, what else can I do? So…. Like any other year, I worked on my birthday.

The PCN staff took my wife and I out to lunch at the Tin Cup. I have to say that the double bacon cheeseburger and steak fries meal was awesome and is in the top three of my favorite burgers in the county.

That lunch was special and I appreciate Jennifer, Wanda, and Kari for taking us out.

My family added to the day and made things really special for me after work.

First off, my wife bought a tray of goodies from Jumpin J's to share at the office. She also ordered two frozen deep dish pizzas from Giordano’s, my favorite pizza place in the Chicagoland area. They were a hit at my BIRTHDAY PARTY!

That’s right! Susan, the kids, and her parents threw me a birthday party! They even sang Happy Birthday, made me blow out a candle, and gave me gifts hand selected by my sons PJ and Lincoln!

I haven’t had a birthday party in years, so it made me feel really special and like a kid again!

The next milestone for me is 40, so the birthday party made me feel young again. I felt young until I woke up. Stiff and sore from working out on my birthday.
