One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, March 22, 2023

Happy Spring equinox! I spent the weekend in Billings, and I really felt like spring was on the way! There was very little snow to be found. But up here it’s a total white landscape! If we get a slow melt, the water should soak in and provide enough soil moisture to grow the crops! If it melts quickly the ponds would get filled which we need also!

Monday morning, I woke up to a very thick fog so according to some people we’ll have a nice rain in 60 days! Or 90 days!

A shout-out to Pete Lumsden for plowing me out! I couldn’t get out of my driveway, but he helped clear the way and I went to Malta to pick up a few groceries on Tuesday. Then we made it to Senior Meals in Whitewater on Wednesday. The roads were not good, and visibility was low. But Cindy and I were able to make it.

On Friday, the roads were cleared enough by the state crew from Malta to allow us to travel to Billings to visit family for the weekend. On Sunday, Rod and I attended the memorial open house for my brother-in-law who passed away last week. Rod’s family also attended. It was a nice time to catch up with cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Congratulations to the Blunt children who participated in the AAU tournament in Billings! Etta took sixth in the tournament! She brought home some hardware! Strong little wrestler! There were 60 wrestlers from Malta alone, so you can imagine how many participants there were all together! Kudos to the families and coaches!

Have a great week!
