On Veterans Day, Saturday the 11th of November, 2023, veterans of the various branches of the military were guests of honor at the annual dinner hosted by the VFW Auxiliary. Approximately 95-100 enjoyed dinner, which was followed by a "Blind Auction." Rick Mikkelson served as Chaplain for the blessing, and Junior members, CharLee and JaLee Anderson led the pledge to the flag. The closing prayer was offered by Sharon Kindle, American Legion Chaplain.
Assisting with the preparations for the event were the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and Juniors, the Sons of the Legion and volunteers. Boy Scout Troop 1429 and Cub Scout Troop 4432 and parents helped serve the meal, as well as cleanup (angel committee), which was greatly appreciated.
The evening concluded with the gathering of some of the veterans for a picture. Forty veterans attended the evening in their honor. Those who were not available at picture taking time were Jim Carver, Greg Kirkwood, William McEwen, Jeanette Wyrick, Jay Southwick, Rufus Rameriz, Lee Jones, Gary Faydo, Floyd Kindle, Michael Kelsey, Randy Tucker, Jack Kelly, Matt Pugh, Bud Walsh, Leonard Leader, Lloyd Knudsen, and Ken Dudey.
