One Nation, Under God

Young American Patriotic Creative Art Contest

To all the aspiring artists in the county grades 9-12, VFW Post 4067 is offering two art contests for you.

These two contests, Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest and 2 and 3-Demensional Art are open to grades 9-12 to all county school students, be it homeschooled or in-school; you are invited to take part.

For Patriotic Art, if students use the American flag, it must conform to the Federal Flag Code in relation to colors, number of stars and stripes and other pertinent rules of the code. Digital art, photography and jewelry are not accepted.

Let your imagination fly and see what you come up with as the sky’s the limit. A completed entry form must be attached to the back of work and a typed explanation of the entry of 300 words or less. Check the website vfwauxiliary.scholarships; and the application form is on that site.

2 or 3-Demenional Art can be paper, paper-mache, pottery, metalwork, fabric, wood, etc. Art shall be no larger than 18” in any direction and not more than 5# in weight.

Each contest has a deadline of March 31 to be submitted to the VFW Post,

Judging will be on the originality of concept, presentation and patriotism expressed; content of how it relates to patriotism and clarity of ideas; design technique, and total impact of work.

One winner from each VFW Auxiliary advances to Department (state) judging.
