Ag Day is slated to take place on Friday, March 22, at Malta's City Hall Building, and across the street at the Malta Volunteer Fire Department for their annual burger feed.
Murphy was asked to describe Ag Day to people that have never experienced the event.
"It is a collection of all of our local businesses that are involved in agriculture," Murphy said.
She mentioned several clubs and businesses that will be having booths at Ag Day including local banks, gas stations, 4-H, FFA, Malta Dirt Daubers, NRCS, Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, Hi-Line Packing, Northwest Realty and many others.
"It's just a really cool collection of anybody and everybody that is involved in agriculture in some way, shape, or form," Murphy said.
The Malta Volunteer Fire Department's burger feed will start at 11 a.m. and will end when they run out of food.
The exhibit event will be in the City Hall building thanks to efforts from the PC Cattlewomen who represented many that wanted the venue for AG Day as opposed to the Old Armory, where the 2023 AG Day was held.
"It's going to be a little bit interesting in the coming years, but we are going to try to keep AG Day and the fireman's lunch together," Murphy said.
When the event was separated last year, the venues saw lower counts in attendance. The trend was that attendees would go to one venue at the Old Armory and then not go to the firehouse and vice versa.
According to Murphy, parking was another issue for the event.
"That is the consensus that I have gotten from everyone that has called," Murphy said. "They are very thankful that we are having it at City Hall because a lot of the people that go to both events will actually walk downtown and go shopping and do whatever they need to do in town on Friday."
She also said that having it at the City Hall benefits local businesses that are nearby, because local store owners and employees can walk from work to check out AG Day.
Though Murphy does not know what the future holds for the event, she would prefer that the event is held in a place that most benefits the community.
"Keeping it as community-based and community central as possible is definitely something that I want to try for," Murphy said.
