Class C Teams Fare Well in Track Meets, Head to Districts

The Dodson Coyotes, Saco Panthers and Whitewater Track teams were busy this week, with teams seeing two or more meets.

All three teams will compete in the District 3C Meet this Saturday, May 11, in Wolf Point, set to start at 9 a.m.

Dodson

The Coyotes were third in the Jason Groseclose Memorial in Rudyard on Monday, April 29, with a score of 71.5. The Lady Coyotes were eighth as a team with 27 points.

Junior Stiffarm took first in triple jump with a mark of 35-3 at the Groseclose meet. Stiffarm was the lone Coyote to place at the Havre Lions' meet on Saturday, after he set a new PR in Triple Jump of 37-7.25.

Lady Coyote Amara Cochran won the Groseclose shot put event with a personal best of 30-2.5. She also posted a new PR in javelin with a throw of 76-2.

Coyote Lance KillEagle won the 3200 with a time of 12:48.90

Sebastian Best was second in long jump with a mark of 17-8.25 and second in the Groseclose triple jump with a mark of 34-3. Best set new personal records in two events at the Havre Lions' meet. He set a time of 13.07 in the 100 and a time of 50.98 in the 300 hurdles.

Lady Coyote Baylee Johnson set a couple of new bests at the Lions' meet. Johnson had a time of 15.22 in the 200 and a time of 32.69 in the 200. Johnson was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:19.90.

Bentlie Ereaux was sixth in the long jump at the Groseclose meet with a PR of 11-6.

Forrest Bessman was sixth in discus at the Groseclose meet with a PR of 96-5 and had a personal best of 98-08 in javelin at the Gene Nelson meet.

Mason LoneBear set a new PR of 31-8 in shot put at the Gene Nelson meet. He also set a new best of 119-7 in javelin and a PR of 68-03 in discus.

Whitewater

Four Lady Penguins competed in the Norm Girard Top Ten meet last Monday, April 29. All four placed within the top six of their respective events.

Shelbi LaBrie was first in the Top 10's 1600 with a time of 5:20.53 and second in the 3200 with a time of 12:05.32.

Paige Wasson won the Top 10 javelin with a throw of 123-01.

Kennedy Simonson was fourth in the Top 10 javelin with a throw of 109-06.

Kendall Scheffelmear was fifth in the 300 hurdles with a PR of 50.02.

The Lady Penguins were third as a team at the Havre Lions' Meet last Saturday with 52 points.

LaBrie won the Lions' 3200 with a time of 11:48.14. LaBrie was third in the 1600 with a time of 5:47.56.

P. Wasson won the Lions' javelin with a throw of 129-1 and third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.96.

Gracie Wasson was third in the Lions' pole vault with a PR of 8-0.

K. Scheffelmear was fourth in the Lions' 300 hurdles with a time of 50.78 and fifth in the 100 hurdles with a PR of 17.61.

Penguin Korbyn Skubinna was eighth in pole vault with a personal best of 9-6.

Tyler Scheffelmear set a new best of 35-8 in shot put and had a new PR of 57.39 in the 400.

Kenan LaBrie set a new PR in discus of 91-6.

Saco

The Panthers and Lady Panthers were sixth in their respective meets at the Havre Lions' Meet last Saturday, May 4. The Lady Panthers had ten points, while the Panthers had 30.

At the Top 10 meet in Glasgow on Monday, April 29, Josie Brown won the 300 hurdles with a PR of 45.50. She was fourth in the 100 with a time of 13.08, and fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.28.

Teagan Erickson was second in the Top 10's javelin with a throw of 118-1, third in high jump after clearing 5-2, and fifth in long jump with a leap of 16-8.

Blaine Downing was second in the Top 10 high jump clearing a PR of 6-2, second in pole vault by clearing 13-0, and fourth in the 100 with a time of 11.49.

Downing won the 400 at the Lion's meet with a PR of 51.36. He won pole vault with a new personal best of 14-6.

Laytin Erickson was third in the Lions' pole vault event by clearing a PR of 11-0. L. Erickson also set a new PR in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.57.
