    The 2021 Montana Range Tour was recently held in Phillips County. The event was hosted by Phillips Conservation District, with over 100 guests in attendance. The annual Montana Range Tour rotates around the state, highlighting excellence and innovation in natural resource stewardship. The tour was held September 8-9, starting with registration at the Tin Cup. From there, the group loaded buses and headed south to Craig and Conni French’s ranch.     Ranchers in Phillips County will showcase their conservation efforts on the 2021 Montana Range Tour taking place in Malta and south Phillips County on September 8th and 9th . Registration is due on Tuesday, August 31. The tour will kick off with a registration and breakfast at the Tin Cup Bar and Grill in Malta the morning of September 8th.   • Conservation District constructs wildlife escape ramps

    Phillips Conservation District recently hired members of the Malta FFA Chapter to construct wildlife escape ramps, utilizing funds from a Montana DNRC 223 grant awarded to Phillips Conservation District for sage grouse related projects. Wildlife escape ramps are placed in livestock watering tanks as a means for trapped wildlife to escape possible drowning. Stock tanks benefit wildlife, but sometimes certain species of wildlife can become trapped and drown. Wildlife escape ramps are an easy, affordable way to avoid this problem. The ramps can al...
