Stine brings a part of history to the PCN

Keith Stine dropped by the office of the PCN Monday morning after seeing the Phillips County Memories Photo of the 1939 Malta Mustangs Football team photo that ran last week. Keith, a junior on that 1939 team, said that though the team had a good season, it was not as good as the team's season in 1940 (he and Jack Lang were the Co-Captains of the '40 squad.)

Back in those days, Class B Football in Montana didn't crown one state champ, but rather four regional champs. After Malta secured the Northern Montana Class B crown, they advanced to a Judith River Basin Championship against Browning.
