Local News:

*Want to be in style, girls? Use a wash rag and a cake of soap. Society has pronounced them an indispensable aid to beauty. No, this is not a grocery advertisement.

*Dudley Jones was in the city yesterday from Dodson, greeting his friends. He is just returned from Helena where he was purchasing the furniture for the big hotel at Dodson.

*The masquerade skate at the rink tomorrow night promises to be one of the big events of the season, and great preparations are being made to entertain the crowd.

*Joe Olson, one of the progressive farmers of the north country, had an accident last Friday that came near ending in his death. He was at work in a well about forty feet deep and signaled to be raised to the top. A horse was being used to lift the dirt and, as had been the practice of those doing the digging, he caught the side of the box to be drawn out. When near the top the box swung to the side of the well and stuck for an instant, and let loose with sufficient force to break his hold, and he fell back to the bottom, a distance of something like thirty feet. When taken to the top it was found that he had a leg badly broken and crushed, and was immediately brought to town and placed under the care of Doctors Clay and Blankenhorn, and at present is progressing as well as could be expected.

Question: What kind of wedding present would you buy a prince, one who's a leading sheik of Saudi Arabia and a billionaire many times over?

Answer: A Harvey Rattey sculpture of an Arabian horse.

"I don't even remember when they came, but friends of his came to hunt and fish and stopped in at my place, watched me making the horse and liked my worked, and ordered the first casting for their friend." Rattey said.

Headline: Michael French cruises to gold medal

They say the mark of a true artist is to make it look easy and Malta sophomore Michael French did just that as he recorded three pins then won a gold medal with an 8-0 decision over Dan Madel of Choteau in the championship match of the 145 pound weight class at the state wrestling tournament in Billings.

French finished the year without a single loss.
