Malta Middle School Track

The Malta Middle School track meet last Saturday couldn't have come at a better time or a more beautiful day. Students from all over Eastern Montana came out for the meet.

Malta sixth grader Erica Smith shined in the 100 meter dash, blowing everyone away with her speed.

"I guess it runs in the family," Smith said. "It felt good because it's my home meet. It's nice to win."

Smith also had the short relay, the 200, long jump and high jump.

"I did good (in long jump)," Smith said. "I beat my high score by one inch. It was pretty good."

Smith recorded a jump of 12 feet, one inch.

Brett Weibe finished second in the same heat of the 100.

Weibe also participated in the 200 and the short relay.

Seventh grader Tanner Smith looks like he could play high school football if it was allowed.

He participated in the long jump, 200, short relay and high jump.

Tanner cleared 5-04 in high jump and won the event.
