University of Montana freshman Keira Simonson, a Loring native, has been a strong competitor in barrel racing since a young age. This year she has been making an impact in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) league as well as in the Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR).
A couple of weeks ago Simonson made her sixth consecutive trip to the INFR Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in Ladies' Barrel Racing and did well, placing in the top fifteen overall.
