Whitewater student overall winner in AMS Drawing Contest

On March 17-18, in Helena, Montana, Kora LaBrie, a Whitewater fifth grader, was recognized as one of two Overall winners in the Agriculture in Montana Schools (AMS) drawing contest. As guests of AMS, Kora, her family, her grandparents and teacher spent two days touring St. Helena Cathedral, the State Wildlife Center, the Carousel, the Montana Historical Society Museum, and the Capitol Building. Two luncheons were held at Jorgenson's Hotel honoring the nine state winners of the drawing contest.

While at the Capitol, Kora met with Lieutenant Governor Mike McGrath and Miss Rodeo Montana to present them with her winning design displayed on bookmarks and note cards. For her efforts, Kora received a gift bag, $50, and placemats, bookmarks, and note cards with her motto "Montana Gains With Montana Grains". Her teacher, Mrs. Wilcott, also received a gift bag filled with agricultural inspired materials for the classroom.

Kora, her family, and Mrs. Wilcott thank AMS President Helen Hanson for a fun-filled two days in Helena. For more information about AMS, visit their website http://www.aginmontanaschools.org.
