M-ettes Sweep Fergus Meets

Late in the track season, The Malta M-ettes are still doing well and their track meet win streak continued at the Golden Eagle Invitational with a score of 142.75 points.

Senior Kaitlyn Smith has been on fire for Malta, shining in both the javelin and shot put throws. Smith set a new school record in javelin leaving a mark at 145-03. Malta’s previous school record was set by Katie Weber in 2003. Weber’s throw was 140-10.

Smith also finished third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.08 seconds and third in shot put leaving a mark at 34-08.

The team was led by Sophia Stiles who won five events at the meet. She won the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.61, the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.90, the high jump after clearing 5-0, the long jump after clearing 16-8 and the triple jump with a length of 35-10.50.

Mystic Striker took first in both the 1600 and 3200 races. She had a time of 5:38 in the 1600 and a time of 12:46.33.

Marley Manoukian took first in the pole vault after clearing 8-0(which tied her personal best), second in the long jump after leaving a mark at 15-4 (new personal best), second in the triple jump with a length of 32-10 and third place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.18.

Hailey Nicholson took first in the 400 with a time of 65.20. She also took fourth in the high jump after clearing 4-10.

Mary Grace Kalal took second in both discus and javelin. She posted a throw of 96-5 in discus and 105-6 in javelin.

Jada Nicholson took third in high jump after clearing 4-10.

Riley Mortenson took third in the 800 with a time of 6:05.40 and fifth in the 1600 with a time of 6:08.90.

The long relay team consisting of Mortenson, J. Nicholson, Kyleigh Schipman and H. Nicholson took first with a time of 4:40.06.
