One Nation, Under God

Phillips County Museum News for August 24, 2016

Mystery Solving Time. What is a huge three foot by four foot, purple in color, was found millions of years ago, has relaxation properties, and is now residing in a case at the PC Museum? Now you really didn’t think I was going to solve the mystery for you! Our doors are open from Monday through Saturday 10-5 and you are invited to come and discover our new addition.

Genealogy plays a large part in our day to day summer activities at the museum. The family of Judge Andrew Davidson, former Phillips County Judge and early Wagner inhabitant, was in the museum to visit and check the PC Museum historic files. They were thrilled to find the Davidson name on an early plat map of the streets of Wagner! Although I lived near Wagner for some of my growing up years I was amazed that Wagner had so many inhabitants and actual streets that were named. Among the Davidson family donations to the museum was a unique item – the first annual printed by Malta High School. It was called “The Antelope”. What a thrill that these early items are returning to Phillips County after a long hiatus in other parts of the nation.

The staff at the museum encourages you to come visit and see what your museum has been up to!
