First State downs Independence in 'battle of the banks' at Marian Hills

Those in the know didn't hold out much faith that the First State Bank golf team had much of a chance against the Independence Bank team at the Malta Men's League Golf Championship last Thursday at Marian Hills. The Independence Bank squad won last year's championship (they also took the title in 2009) and First State Bank hadn't claimed the title since 2008.

On paper, it didn't look good. On the course, however, it ain't over 'til it's over.
