Koss, Tatafu voted to Malta School Board, Saco voters approve mill levy

Malta voters elected Kevin Koss (518) and Levi Tatafu (402) to serve as trustees on the Malta School Board in last week’s election. Koss and Tatafu will replace RJ Tollefson who did not run for reelection and Doug Ost, who was finishing out Gaelen Curtis’ term on the school board. Koss and Tatafu edged out Ost (376) and Clifford Merriman (333) for the two vacant seats.

Malta School District has a total of 2,073 registered voters (1,079 absentee) and about 40-percent of those registered voted in last Tuesday's election.

In Saco, levies for both the high school (105 for and 62 against) and elementary (105 for and 63 against) both passed. For the Saco School Board, Jay Yeska (144) and Aaron Albus (102) edged out Nena Malmend (88) for one trustee position and Holly Salveson (154) ran unopposed and was elected to the board.
