One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for June 7, 2017

Memorial Day has again come and gone. The cemeteries at Malta and Dodson were both nicely cared for and many beautiful decorations were on loved one's graves.

Dora Henry was in Malta Saturday decorating graves and then getting a "perm.” The wind was blowing hard for several days and it made it a little hard on decorations.

A total of 116 crosses were put up to honor Dodson Community veterans who fought to keep us free. So many more than when we started so many years ago. Seems that every year one or two more are added.

Wink and Terri Cole celebrated an early 55th anniversary with several of their children this weekend. Attending were Mary Cole of Helena, Jeff and Julie Cole of Glasgow, Kathy Coppedge and son Quentin of Denton, Patty Vaughn and daughter Taryn, Steve and Tara Cole of Malta, Matt and Heidi Cole and sons Conner and Cooper of Billings, Kelly Radtke and children Sylvie and Corbin of Green River, Wyo., Zack and Sarah Cole of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Maycee Handley, also of Billings. They all spent Saturday at Sleeping Buffalo and Sunday they had a barbeque at Wink and Terri's. Matt, Zack and Sarah stayed on and did several jobs for their parents, as well as took them to supper at the GN with Steve, Tara and family. Wednesday they all went to Senior Meals at the center and then the guys went to Neil and Laura Cole's for a visit. They all returned to Billings on Wednesday afternoon and Zack and Sarah will return to Texas on Friday. Wink and Terri will be traveling to Helena for the weekend for their granddaughter Aryn Cummings’ graduation from Capitol High as an honor student.

Dolores Shettel was in town visiting on Friday.

Polly Solberg attended the swim meet in Harlem on Saturday and Sunday. She had relatives and friends from Fairfield in it.

Saturday and Sunday of the first week in June was unexpectedly "Hot.” Sunday we had 94 degrees--very hot for early June.

Birthday greetings are sent to Dolores Shettel, Isaac Williamson, and Edward Solberg and everyone else celebrating a birthday this week. I would like to extend anniversary greetings to three of my children this month, Bud and Karen Cribley and Bill and Marilyn Henry at 40 years and Steve and Judy Henry at 46 years.

The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you get to work.

Have a wonderful week!
