Phillips County Motorsports hosts annual meeting

The Phillips County Motorsports (PCMS) annual meeting is in the books. The Malta based group gave their annual report, announced the 2019 event dates, and elected a new board member.

Joining the PCMS board by member vote was Dave Olson, after Jared Stenberg stepped down from his seat. Gary Mathwich and Dennis Bebee regained their seats unopposed. The nine board member positions are electing three at a time every racing year during the annual meeting.

PCMS President Dan Stout and Vice President John Carnahan were unanimously re-elected unopposed.

The group announced that their racing season will begin with their annual Track Cleanup day, scheduled on Saturday, May 18. The track’s first Test and Tune event is scheduled for Sunday, May 19.

The next Test and Tune will take place on Saturday, June 1. Sunday, June 2, will be the start of the Bracket Racing Season.

The second Points race is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, June 15. Sunday, June 16, will also be the 2018 Big Dollar Make Up Race. There will be no points added to the season total during the Big Dollar Make Up Race.

PCMS will host their Montana Drag Racing Association (MDRA) race from Saturday, June 15 through Sunday, June 16. This will also be the track’s third points race.

The fourth points weekend will be held on Labor Day weekend. The three day event kicks of on Saturday, August 31, and ends on Monday, September 2. The IHRA Iron Man Race will be held on Monday, September 2, which also marks the final points race of 2019.

On Saturday, September 21, the group will be hosting it’s Junior Big Dollar Race, a Oliver Mickey Jr. Dragster Race, and a Test and Tune for all other classes. The group will also be holding it’s Annual Fundraiser Banquet in the City Hall building.

The season will conclude on Sunday, September 22, as the track hosts the 2019 $12,000 Big Dollar Race.

It was also announced that Malta will be hosting the MDRA Banquet in February of 2020.

The PCMS group has already raised $1300 of the $1600 needed to bring Jet-fueled racers to the track during the 2019 First State Bank Car Show Weekend, which coincides with the Test and Tune held on Saturday, June 1.

Chasis Certifications will be held in Glasgow on Saturday, March 23, by Neil Stahl. Racers are encouraged to obtain certifications in Glasgow that day. Stahl will be headed to Great Falls for Chasis Certifications on Saturday, March 30.
