Boating accident sends man to Denver hospital


On Thursday, July 4, 2019, the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a boating accident at Nelson Reservoir near Sleeping Buffalo Resort. An ambulance, a Deputy Sheriff, and a Montana Fish and Game Warden were dispatched to respond to the incident. The reporting party said an adult male had been badly injured by the prop of a motorboat. The victim was being transported in a private vehicle and requested an ambulance meet them between Sleeping Buffalo and Malta. Once the ambulance met the vehicle with the victim in it, the victim was transferred to the ambulance and transported to the Phillips County Hospital. The victim was later flown out of Malta to a Denver hospital and is in an unknown medical state. Fish and Game Warden’s are investigating the boating accident.
