Middle School wrestlers in Havre

The Malta Middle School Wrestling Team went to the Havre Middle School Invitiational on Saturday, February 29.

“I was really proud of our team effort up at Havre,” Coach Nick Oxarart said. “This was a good test to see what each wrestler needs to work on this week at practice. This is the first year of wrestling for many of our wrestlers, so we are striving to get them better each time they step on the mat.”

The Malta Colts will head to Lewistown this Saturday, March 7, for the Middle School State Championships.

The individual placings for Malta at the Havre Invitational:

5/6th Grade: Duke Williamson 105 lbs - 3rd place, Kayden Green 120 lbs - 2nd place, and Skylar Gilkerson 140 lbs - 4th place.

7th/8th Grade: Dylan Kinney 85-90 lbs - 4th place, Kohner Schipman 120 lbs - 3rd place, Ivan Lefdahl 130-135A lbs - 3rd place, Taylin Johannesen 130-135B lbs - 2nd place, and Gavin Slade 145-150 lbs - 4th place.
