Four M-ettes on All-Conference list

Over the past three seasons, the Malta M-ette basketball team has won three Northern B Championships and have made it to the final day of the State B Girls Basketball Tournament.

Their four All-Conference selections this season have played major roles in Malta's Northern B dominance.

The PCN asked Malta M-ettes Coach Nate Hammond about the team's 2022 All-Conference selections that were named to the District 2B list a little more than a week ago. Those selections include All-State selections Allison Kunze and Maddie Williamson, as well as second-team selections Addy Anderson and Justine Lamb.

Kunze and Williamson, both juniors, also made the All-State list last season. Anderson, a junior, was a second-team selection last season, and Lamb, a senior, was a first-team selection.

Coach Hammond sent notes about each of the team's selections.

Allison Kunze: This is Allison's second year leading us in scoring and her third year leading the M-ettes in rebounding. She has 842 career points and 585 career rebounds.

Maddie Williamson: Maddie is a game-changer on defense and I am especially proud of her stepping in and filling an unfamiliar point guard role for us this year. Maddie led us in steals and assists. She currently has 206 steals which already puts her 4th all-time on the M-ette list in the same company and behind Erica Smith, Hailey Nicholson, and Sophia Stiles (steals were not officially recorded until 2013).

Addy Anderson: Addy leads the M-ettes in three-point percentage at 31% and free throw percent at 68%. Her scoring and rebounding have been a big asset for us. She brings length and athletic ability along with keeping defenses stretched out.

Justine Lamb: In her senior year, Justine was a huge asset on both ends on the floor as well as off the floor. Her leadership along with big scoring and rebounding numbers gave her credibility throughout the conference. As a coach, I was most proud of her defensive effort throughout the year. Her physicality and high-motor was a huge reason for our success.
