Dodson's Werk Wins Ranch Bronc at P.C. Fair

At the halfway point of the 108th Phillips County Fair Indian Relay and Chariot Races last Saturday, the crowd was treated to a Ranch Bronc event.

At the end of the event, a local rider, Dodson's Alex Werk was the winner with a total score of 135 points. Werk scored 64 in the first round of the event and 71 in the top five round (finals).

Werk has had plenty of success at rodeos at the PC Fair. This event was the third that he won.

"It was a good one," Werk said. "Too bad the other boys rode so poor, I guess."

He was asked what the key to his rides were.

"I was just doing me and having fun," he said.

Being that the rodeo is in his hometown, he said that he wanted to have more fun and try hard.

Estaban Grenados was second with 133. He had 63 points in the first round and 70 in the second round.

Ashtin Lamere was third with a total of 132. Lamere had 63 points in the opening round and 69 in the finals.

Tyrus Lamere had a total of 124 after scoring 67 in the first round and 57 in the championship.

Dodson's Ivan Lefdahl scored 60 points in the first round.

Jim Orahood provided the horse stock at the event.
