    The M-ettes posted a strong win against the Poplar Indians last Saturday in Malta, but also dropped a game against the Scotties last Thursday. With only five teams in the 2B district, Malta who took second will get a first round bye, however their opening opponent Wolf Point will also get a first round bye.     For the second consecutive year the Malta Mustangs (7-1) will host the opening playoff game at Mustang Field Saturday at 1 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $6 for students.     The North Country Mavericks enter the District 3C Volleyball Tournament at Scobey High School this Friday at the second seed after defeating Lustre 3-2 last Friday and Brockton 3-0 last Saturday.     With only one runner having state meet experience, the young Harrier team performed well at the 52nd Annual All-Class State Cross-Country Meet in Great Falls on October 24. For the men, Freshman Tyrese Messerly placed 89th with a time of 20.40, and Sophomore Jasper Doney placed 127th with a time of 23.42. A total of 143 young men completed the race. Kirby has served as the Musical Director of the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, MO and of the Rocky Mountain Ragtime and American Music Festival in Boulder, CO.
