The Malta Senior Citizens will be at Ag Day, Friday, March 22 answering questions, dispensing information and giving away prizes. The Missoula Children's Theatre is in Malta this week! Initial auditions took place on Monday from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in the MES gym. There will be about 20 of our students performing in this week's play. Each student in the play received paperwork to clarify practice times based on their role. Last week, the PCN shared an article by Bernt Nelson on the U.S. Cattle inventory being the lowest that it has been in 73 Years. Though there are several issues around the country that affect cattle numbers, the PCN caught up with Phillips County Extension Agent Christina Murphy. As far as grasshoppers go, they have come hand in hand with the drought that Phillips County has been experiencing over the past few summers. Another large event that the Extension office holds annually is the Jim Schumacher Day event. Ag Day is slated to take place on Friday, March 22, at Malta's City Hall Building, and across the street at the Malta Volunteer Fire Department for their annual burger feed.
