One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of July 8, 2015

The smoke smells strong and the sky and air are cloudy due to the terrible fires in Canada and in the USA.

If you are camping, please be careful with campfires.

There was a retirement party for Lynn Hill at the Lutheran Church. She has worked as secretary at the school for many years. The party was well attended with a delicious potluck. Happy retirement, Lynn!

The missionaries, Jon and Dianne are gone. The Wishers are back. There has been Vacation Bible School and a Tent Revival here in Whitewater July 6 to 10, so there are still a few days to go. Welcome to all.

There will be a senior meals during lunch at the North 40 Cafe on Wednesdays at noon, starting July 1. The lunch is sponsored by the Council on Aging and the price is $4. All seniors are welcome.

Nancy (including myself) went to the Milk river Gospel Jamboree in Malta. The gospel music was wonderful; with singing groups and musicians from all over. Many were from Canada. There were two little boys who could play fantastic violin! The Music was all beautiful.

Mr. Scott and Mrs. Pat Anderson gave me a ride home to Whitewater.

Happy Birthday to all July birthdays, including my girls Teresa July 9 and Gale July 22.

The weather is hot and dry; We should pray for rain. The morning sun rose in a big red ball instead of a lovely sunrise. It was probably due to the fires.

Let's hope and pray the fires are all out soon. Take care.
