First things first with 'Freedom' mural

A public meeting held at the American Legion Post 57 to discuss the changes to the “Freedom” mural near the underpass on Highway 191 had about 10 people in attendance and a plethora of ideas were discussed for a new mural.

At the end of the meeting it was decided that the first things that needs to be done is to have the existing mural soda-blasted and the concrete underneath needs to be sealed before the colder weather hits Phillips County. The price tag for that job will be around $1,000, according to Malta VFW Auxiliary Secretary Carolyn Schmoeckel.
