Erickson, Albus power Mavericks to victory over little Porkies

The future looks bright for the North Country Mavericks and Lady Mavericks' basketball teams. Both fifth-sixth grade teams picked up wins in Jamboree action against their Nashua Porcupine opponents last Friday afternoon in Saco.

First the Girls team defeated Nashua 21-10 and then the Boys team won 36-11.

In the Lady Maverick's win, sixth-grader Jaycee Erickson took charge, scoring 14 points, eight of which were scored in the first half.

"I think we had really good defense and we had lots of good layups," Erickson said.
