Council appoints parks and rec board members

During the new business portion of last Tuesday night's Malta City Council meeting, the newly added Parks and Recreation Board had eight members approved to its ranks.

Those named to the Parks and Recreation Board were Laura Pankratz, Natalie Judd, Ray Harms, Janni Wiese, Jackie Sorlie, Ashley Stuart, Gini Rampy and Julie Moore.

“We tried to pull people from all the different groups in town,” said Malta Mayor Shyla Jones. “From the swimming pool, to the ball fields, to the arena, to the (Malta) Trails …just people from the community who are out with their children a lot in the community.”
