Coyotes get second win of season

Warming up at the right time, the Dodson Coyotes won their second game of the season after defeating Harlem’s JV 54-43 last Tuesday night in Harlem. The team also lost a game to Hays-Lodgepole JV last Thursday night. The score was 55-43.

“We played as a team,” Coach Wes KillEagle Jr. told the PCN. “We played good team defense and team offense. We came out kind of slow and played sloppy but we just had that no-quit attitude.”

The team was down by as many as twelve points.

“It’s hard to get up for a game on Tuesday night,” Coach KillEagle said. “We just talked about waking up and playing as a team. Then we came out and got it done in that fourth quarter.”

With there being many formidable teams in the 3C District, the Coyotes are currently the sixth seed in the district and will have to play solid in the upcoming tournaments to get into the divisional round, but Coach KillEagle is still optimistic.

“We have to play how we’ve been playing the last couple of weeks,” he said. “We have really started clicking as a team and right before tournaments. I’m excited.”

The team will face Hay’s Lodgepole JV tomorrow night in Hays-Lodgepole at 6 p.m. Then the team will face Frazer in Dodson for the team’s senior night on Friday. The team will them travel to Lustre to take on the Lions on Saturday. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
