Montana Rangelands Partnership Presents Land Monitoring Demonstration for RSA

Are you interested in monitoring on your land? Not sure where to start? Come join the Ranchers Stewardship Alliance members at the Tallow Creek School located 30 miles south of Malta, on June 13th at 3:00 pm. A monitoring demonstration will be taught by Emily Standley of the Montana Rangelands Partnership. You’ll learn the basics of setting up photo points and monitoring transects using quick and easy techniques that can be completed year after year. The Montana Rangelands Partnership, a collaborative public-private partnership among numerous agricultural and conservation organizations in Montana. The Partnership is led by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of Montana (SWCDM), the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Montana State University Extension, and the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC). Emily Standley is a range technician with the Montana Rangelands Partnership. This demonstration provides a great opportunity to ask question and get information on how to start or improve your monitoring plan. The Ranchers Stewardship Alliance is a group of ranching families in northern Montana working collectively to promote the ecological, social and economic conditions that will sustain the biodiversity and integrity of America’s northern mixed-grass prairie for present and future generations.
