One Nation, Under God

Whitewater NEws for June 8, 2016

News flash: North 40 Café is opening! It is the hub of Whitewater social life! Nancy LaBrie and family are cooks and waitresses as they have food licenses. The bar will open at a later date. Allie and Sue Olson are owners of the building and bar. Gary and Barb Anderson were the former owners.

The Whitewater community pitched in and bought shares of $500 each to buy the establishment. There have been many other past owners including the Lefdahls, Logisans, Geers and finally the Andersons.

North 40 opened in 1980. It is reopening on June 1, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., for good, we hope.

We are counting on everyone dining in the North 40 Café …see you there.

Memorial Day, Sally Austin and Linda Berg went to Malta to see the parade and go to the VFW for lunch. Others went to the lake or the hot springs.

Margie Olson, Ree Simonson, JoAnne and Howie Hammond went to South Dakota to visit Evelyn (Margie and Ree’s sister.) Howie went to the Mayo Clinic for a check-up. Hope all is well.

Linda Berg’s sister from Canada visited her recently.

Loulabelle Bessell has a new roof on her house. Looks good.

Whitewater Lutheran Church joins Malta Lutheran Church for Vacation Bible School in Malta in June. Call the churches for details.

We had lots of rain. Some farmers don’t have crops in yet so good luck to them.
