One Nation, Under God

Dodson news for the week of June 22, 2016

When I was halfway to Malta on Saturday, I saw the biggest-Fattest snake crossing the road. Had to be a bull snake or rattler, too much on-coming traffic to back up and see, but he was big.

We had the worst storm on Saturday evening about 6:00 pm. Fierce wind and heavy rain, had to be close to 100 mile an hour winds. Trees around town were broken down, a corner of the grandstand roof at the fairgrounds lifted. To look outside it looked like the pictures you see of typhoons in the tropics. Good thing it was moving fast thru and only lasted about 45 minutes. Blew a parked train off the tracks east of Malta and they had some hail there. There is smaller branches and tree debris everywhere and things were blown all over peoples yards. One large piece of trim was blown off the Lutheran Church.

Town-man Robbie Bear has been kept busy with mowing around town and now with cleaning up all the downed trees and branches. My personal thanks to Rob for helping an old lady (me) right after the storm.

So far we have been fortunate to not have many mosquitoes thanks to Caleb and the new fogger.

Wink and Terri Cole were in Glasgow for medical tests.

Birthday greetings are sent to Taylor Pankratz and anniversary congratulations are sent to Bruce and Leona Kienenberger and John and Patti Wilke.

No sound concentrates so much spitefulness and malice into a very small volume as the panging of mosquito’s.

Have a good week and enjoy the sunshine we do get.
