Whitewater News for September 7, 2016

There was a memorial dinner for Frank Allery at the North 40 on Sunday. Dinner was delicious and really well attended. Frank was raised in Whitewater and worked at the Austin Ranch and for the County for years. Charlie Allery and family hosted the memorial.

Monika Taylor flew to Oklahoma to meet her new baby granddaughter. The baby joins two sisters at home.

There was a baby shower for Calli Cox’s new baby at Whitewater. It was well attended and the baby – Parker Jaye -- got many nice gifts.

Gale Y. came to get me and we celebrated Challise Young’s birthday (she is my granddaughter.) Time flies.

Pastor Haney of Grace Fellowship Church rode his motorcycle to Whitewater last week.

Happy 100th birthday to my friend, Bessie Mae Waters. That’s a good, long life.

Pastor Nagy visits in Whitewater on Wednesdays. He had lunch at the school. Erica Lawless and Cassandra Stenvik are cooks this year.

Is there a wagon train this year? Hope so.

Howard Berg has been combining his grain, as many others have been.

I walked by the old, tall grain elevators, which are not used any more. They are a “monument to the past.” Times change.

Farmers, be careful with farm machinery.

Jim and Pat Murdock went to Saco for Royce’s seventh birthday (he is the son of Lacey and Jason Beil. Happy birthday to Royce and all August and September birthdays.

Then Pat and Jim went to Malta on Saturday to visit Alex Murdock and son Aiden from Great Falls. Others at the party were the Webbs, Kate and Gordon Murdock and others. They all had a nice time.

I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend.
